Overall Strategy

There are two parts to the game theory behind this title.

Infrastructure consists of the buildings, provinces, taxes, and shards that you build, conquer, and control.

On the other hand, warfare is the raising and training of troops, the actually orders you give in battle, and the understanding that if you lose, you'll be wiped out. There is no retreating from a battle.

You cannot win this game without successfully managing both of these game theories. To do so, during each turn, you must remember to check the upcoming battle conditions and readiness for each of your heroes AND monitor the status of your castle and provinces.

Provincial Readiness

Make sure:

  • your provinces are constructing buildings if they have room for them and you can afford them,
  • never spend more than half the gold you start the turn with,
  • get your castle constructing whatever it needs,
  • monitor the stability and growth of your populace,
  • and be prepared with enough flexibility in your plans to handle random events.

Heroic Readiness

Make sure:

  • your heroes have all the soldiers they need for battle,
  • your heroes are well educated in magic scrolls,
  • that those soldiers are in a maximum state of health,
  • that you have guards where they need to be to prevent revolt,
  • that you have swapped out some of your veterans for new recruits so you can elevate your noobs to a higher level,
  • and -- most of all -- use good judgement when invading a shard or province so you don't land in a trap.
